Bangkok--14 Nov--Siam Commercial Bank
Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) continues its Customer First strategy with its SCB Easy Application, the latest mobile banking channel for smartphones. The SCB Easy Application offers quick and convenient financial transactions on the go and around the clock for the growing number of smartphone users, with enhanced SCB online banking services compatible with iOS, Android, and BlackBerry. SCB is confident that the app will be popular and gain over 300,000 users in one year. The bank has also developed a set of “Easy Kun the Monkey” stickers for free download at LINE, a popular chat app. SCB is the first bank in Thailand to introduce this social networking gimmick to enhance customer engagement.
SCB First Executive Vice President and Head of the Customer Segment Division Rungruang Sukkirdkijpiboon said, “Currently there are around 1.5 million users of SCB internet banking. Among these, 600,000 users are active. In Thailand, there are some 13 million mobile banking users on smartphones, and the number keeps growing. Based on these facts, combined with in-depth behavior surveys and analysis of customers making online financial transactions, SCB has developed the SCB Easy Application to cater to smartphone users' lifestyles with easy, convenient, and secure transactions anywhere and anytime. The app is available for iOS, Android, and BlackBerry platforms.”
The SCB Easy Application, a new online banking service for smartphone users, offers a wider range of financial transactions compared to SCB Mobile Banking and the SCB Easy Net-Widget introduced earlier. The app features a user-friendly graphical user interface, including SCB ATM and branch finder. Users can download the app and connect to the Internet via GPRS/EDGE/3G or WiFi, and use their SCB Easy Net Internet banking username and password without having to register again. New users can register via the app and make transactions right away. Only an SCB savings account or credit card number and PIN are required for registration. Users can place their trust in the same high standard of transaction security as used with SCB Easy Net Internet banking, and they can enable a PIN lock to protect access to the application.
Rungruang added, “To better serve the lifestyle of younger generations, we have developed a set of “Easy Kun the Monkey” stickers for LINE chat application. Easy Kun the Monkey is recognized as our SCB Easy Net mascot and we have 16 Easy Kun stickers around the theme of financial matters and daily life. The Easy Kun sticker is available for free download at LINE, which is the world's top chat application, with 60 million downloads worldwide. In Thailand, it is estimated that there have been no less than 8 million LINE downloads. SCB is the first in Thailand’s financial industry to use the gimmick to enhance customer engagement. We are confident that the application will be popular and gain over 300,000 users within one year.”
