Bangkok--15 Nov--EXIM Thailand
Mr. Kanit Sukonthaman, President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), and Mr. Pira Intaratood, Managing Director of Asia Nampapa Luangprabang Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Asia Infrastructure Management (Thailand) Ltd. and Water Solution Co., Ltd., signed a loan agreement worth 70 million baht to finance Asia Nampapa Luangprabang’s investment in water treatment plant and water supply service facilities to cater for the Water State Enterprise of Luangprabang Province at EXIM Thailand’s Head Office on November 14, 2012. By enhancing Lao PDR’s water supply production capability, the loan facility will help support the expansion of tourism and service industries as well as Luangprabang’s economic development.
EXIM Thailand’s President added that EXIM Thailand’s finance is aimed to promote outward foreign direct investment of Thai SMEs with potential, know-how and experience in water supply development. This will also help enhance Lao PDR’s infrastructure development in response to the consistently rising demand of water supply following the economic expansion in Luangprabang.
“This loan facility signifies EXIM Thailand’s role in promoting Thai SMEs with potential to expand their venture abroad, particularly in the ASEAN countries in preparation for the advent of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015,” said Mr. Kanit.
Founded in 2011, Asia Nampapa Luangprabang Co., Ltd. is a joint venture between Asia Infrastructure Management (Thailand) Ltd. and Water Solution Co., Ltd. Both are Thai SME investors experienced in water supply management in Thailand and ASEAN countries.
