Goal is to foster steady growth of Thai SMEs
Siam Commercial Bank has teamed up with the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) to organize a 6th annual SCB-FTI Factory Outlet Sale. The sale will feature a variety of export quality products, with more than 200 brand name products manufactured by Thai small- and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) on sale at discounts of up to 50%.
The event, which will take place during November 26-30, 2012 between 09.00-18.00 hours at Mahisorn Hall, SCB Headquarters, Rachayothin, is being held to enhance business opportunities for Thai SMEs while at the same time providing consumers a chance to shop for high quality products at bargain prices. An added benefit is that it will help stimulate local consumption, vital to driving the country's overall economy.
SCB Senior Executive Vice President Sirichai Sombutsiri, Head of the Business Banking Group, said SCB has joined hands with the FTI to provide continued and comprehensive support to Thai SMEs to boost their competitiveness. The organization of SCB-FIT Factory Outlet Sales is one of the key methods the two organizations have adopted to assist Thai SMEs in marketing and distributing their products.
It is expected that this 6th event will see even more SMEs keen on selling their products at over 200 display booths, boosting the industrial sector, particularly SME businesses, with an injection of more than 15 million baht.
FTI Vice Chairman Pramote Techasupatkul said SMEs, like larger businesses, are a key component of the country's economic system, but they remain short of sufficient capital for product development and other factors necessary to facilitate business performance. In addition, they sometimes lack the knowledge necessary to increase local market channels and for boosting awareness of their brands.
The SCB-FTI Factory Outlet is one of a variety of activities that SCB and FTI have jointly organized, as they realize the importance of encouraging and helping SMEs to increase product distribution channels to provide them with an opportunity to introduce and promote their products. This event will help stimulate trade and boost business cash flow in the country.
The event, which has been held for five years in a row, has drawn an excellent response from SMEs and consumers, and has successfully met targets, said Mr. Pramote. He added that the 6th SCB-FTI Factory Outlet will be held in Mahisorn Hall and feature an extended area around the hall, where 215 booths have been set up by FTI members and SCB clients. Available at the event will be quality products at attractive prices, including cosmetics, leather goods, furniture, home furnishings, electrical appliances, textiles and garments, eye-wear, plastics, precious stones and ornaments, and much more.
