Bangkok--18 Dec--Kasemkij Hotels
Kasemkij Hotels, the owner and operator of the Cape, Kantary and Kameo Hotel Collections, organised this year’s ‘Aki Matsuri 2012’ event to promote Sriracha city and cultural ties between the Thai and Japanese people as well as to thank the company’s large Japanese clientele for their support.
Kasemkij Hotels has four properties in the seaside city. Cape Racha Hotel; Kantary Bay, Sriracha; Karavel House and Kameo House, Sriracha are all centrally located and in close proximity to Sriracha’s many Japanese shops and restaurants in an area known as Little Osaka. The event, which is modeled on the actual Aki Matsuri Festival — a traditional celebration to mark the start of autumn in Japan, was again well received by both sponsors and guests; the latter figure exceeding 300.
This year, besides featuring food from the many local shops participating in the event, guests could also enjoy a variety of delicious dishes from the hotels’ restaurants, including Mediterranean food from Cape Racha’s Le Marin; western food from Karavel House’s California Steak; Chinese food from Kameo House’s Tapestry, Japanese food from Kantary Bay’s The Orchard; as well as Italian and Mexican dishes from No.43 Italian Bistro located in Kantary Bay, Rayong.
In addition to exotically decorated food stalls, colourful Japanese lanterns and beautiful Japanese ‘Ukata’ costumes worn by many of the guests, the event featured many exciting shows, including a big Super Hero production. There was also a host of games with generous prizes for both children and adults, such as balloon shooting, egg catching, mini bowling; but ‘Drop the Girl into The Water’ was the most popular of all.
Cape Racha Hotel GM Sathavuth Sermprasert shared his feelings after the event. “This year’s Aki Matsuri was a great success. Apart from the usual shows performed by the children of our guests, we added a number of other shows to make it bigger and more exciting. The most spectacular of which was the fireworks display to end the evening — everyone just loved it!”
