basil’s gifted Chef Kesinee Wanta’s secret to ensuring diners enjoy an unforgettable experience is to create a feast for the eyes with contemporary presentation and excite the palate with authentic flavors. Now her award-winning cuisine is further enhanced by premium quality organic produce from the Royal Mae Fah Luang Project in northern Thailand.
Classic dishes with healthful chemical-free vegetables include appetizers of larb hed pla hima grob, a spicy salad of organic mushroom with crispy snow fish, and yam hua plee neua poo, a tasty salad of organic banana blossoms with Alaskan king crab. Diners will also enjoy a deeply satisfying tom kha hoi shell, a light and fragrant lemon-grass infused coconut broth with grilled Atlantic scallops, and geang panaeng moo dam, a rich red curry made with renowned Kurobuta pork and organic eggplants. Other highlights on the exquisite set menu include mok pla trout, bake trout with organic dried chili, Thai basil and fresh dill, and phad phak krong garn luang, saut?ed mixed organic vegetables from the inspirational Royal Project. The memorable authentic Thai dining experience will end with kanom gluay, a light banana cake with shredded coconut and basil’s divine homemade ice cream.

basil is located on level 1 of Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. Decorated in contemporary Thai style, an interesting feature of the restaurant is a large communal table just inside the main entrance where guests can sit and enjoy a quick plate of noodles or a light one-dish meal. The restaurant’s main area and three private air-conditioned rooms are ideal for enjoying the ? la carte selection with friends, family and business colleagues.
basil is open for lunch Monday to Friday from 12.00 — 14.30 hrs., and for dinner from 18.00 - 22.30 hrs., Monday — Sunday.
