Recently, Mr. Sermsak Pongpanich, Deputy Minister of Education, presided over the opening ceremony of “the annual conference on Science, Mathematics and Technology in School alongside ISMTEC 2013” under the title of “Transforming Science, Mathematics and Technology Education”, organized by The Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST), together with Professor Emeritus Dr. Montri Chulavatnatol, Chairman of the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) and Dr. Pornpun Waitayangkoon, the President of the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC). This event will open the new dimension in science, mathematics and technology education for the 21st century and prepare Thailand for ASEAN Community. Besides, it will also improve the quality of Thai Teachers and encourage them to apply ICT in their instruction and evaluation. In additional to the event, it aims to encourage teachers to share their experiences and ideas about how to effectively improve science, mathematics and technology education among pre-school to grade-12 children as well as improve the quality of teachers and encourage the creative ICT application in teaching. Moreover, teachers can evaluate the students and their learning skills. Throughout this year, there are many major academic activities in which some of them will broadcast and live on the internet to maximize access by teachers and interested public via the official website. Furthermore, there are many interesting works with fully high qualified such as several special lectured, research presentations and workshops.
