General Manager Wim N. M. Fagel of Centara Watergate Pavillion Hotel Bangkok has announced the appointment of John Ranaudo as Executive Chef.
John was born and raised in Canada from Italian parents, and the family later decided to return to their native Italy where he began to develop his culinary interests at the young age of fourteen. He cites his mom, and even his dad, as being his first influence in cooking Italian dishes.
He has worked with great chefs in his career but always remembers the words and lessons of his first Master Chef, Graziano Vannini, from whom he has embraced the essences and basics of the culinary art.
Chef John has extensive experience in the culinary field spanning more than 20 years. He joins Centara Watergate Pavillion Hotel Bangkok from Amari Vogue Krabi, where he also held the position of Executive Chef. Prior to arriving in Thailand he had worked in many hotels in Italy, including the Torretta Hotel, Rome Cavalieri Hilton Hotel, Grotta Giusti & Terme Hotel, and Mobygest Hotels & Resorts. He also spent time working on luxury ships with Princess Cruise Line.
Chef John says: “I believe very much in developing my own style, relating it to the guests and their preferences, and I spend many hours in the kitchen following my thoughts and always looking for something that will be unique. I am looking forward to my new challenge!”
