Highlighting its position as the country’s largest fashion centre and the capital of FFBLs
Each of its shopping centres now brings together the most fast fashion and bridge lines (FFBL) under one roof
Promoting CentralWorld, CentralPlaza Grand Rama 9 and CentralPlaza Ladprao as fashion capitals for young people by organizing ‘Fashion Happenings’ to showcase the latest global trends and creating a link that connects customers with fashion brands
Central Pattana Public Company Limited (CPN), Thailand's largest retail property developer, today announced that it is joining forces with partners like CMG, Minor, Gagan, XXI Forever, UNIQLO, Jaspal, Club21 and Kate Spade and is spending over 50 million baht to boost the profile of CPN as the number one fashion retailer in Thailand. CPN will focus its efforts on promoting its three prominent shopping centres — CentralWorld, CentralPlaza Grand Rama 9 and CentralPlaza Ladprao — as fashion capitals for young people. CPN is also launching the ‘BKK Trend Spotted’ campaign that includes organising ‘Fashion Happenings’ based on the characteristics of each shopping centre, with the aims of capturing fashionistas of all tastes and of promoting Thailand as the fashion hub of Asia.
Dr Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Executive Vice President of Marketing for CPN, said: “CPN is currently seeing huge growth potential for fashion as a business, buoyed by frequent and rapid changes of fashion trends, globalisation and easy access to social networks. More and more people are becoming fashion-conscious and keen on keeping up with the latest fashion information, leading to the creation of the fast fashion model and bridge lines, which respond well to trend-setting consumers’ insatiable demand for newness.”
CPN’s shopping centres are recognised for having the most extensive range of fast fashion brands and bridge lines in the country, namely CK Calvin Klein, TOPSHOP/TOPMAN, XXI Forever, Zara, Kate Spade, Jack Spade, Furla, Agnes B, UNCENSORED, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, H.E. by Mango, UNIQLO and Jaspal. All these brands are on the list of the most popular brands in the current market. CPN has increased the fashion section of its shopping centres to 40-45% of the total retail space and plans to expand the fashion space at its main shopping centres to 50% of their total retail space within the next two years.
CPN will join efforts with leading fashion brands to update fashion collections continuously throughout the year. It will also partner with major fashion magazines like NYLON, Praew, Sudsupda and ELLE magazine, with whom it has been organizing the annual ELLE Fashion Week for the past several years.
“The 23 shopping centres operated by CPN nationwide will be organizing no less than 50 ‘Fashion Happenings throughout this year as CPN attempts to publicise the latest trends and promote the cosmopolitan lifestyle in major cities undergoing rapid urbanization, which is the main reason for CPN to motivate Thai people to pay more attention to their image and dress more tastefully.” added Dr Nattakit.
Furthermore, CPN will also hold the ‘Club Front Row’ campaign, which will encourage people who love fashion to help inform the world about Thai people’s great taste in clothes. This campaign will provide a platform for CPN’s fashion-conscious customers who are active on CPN’s Facebook fan pages and Instagram to become ‘the Next Celebrities’ and join the front row of CPN’s fashion events attended by Thailand’s leading celebrities. Those selected to join the ‘Club Front Row’ will play a key role in helping promote CPN’s shopping centres as shopping destinations with the best fast fashion chains and bridge lines through Facebook and Instagram.
To showcase the new summer fashion trends, CPN will organise large-scale ‘Fashion Happening’ events at its three prominent shopping centres, which are being touted as fashion capitals, as follows:
The Hypnotize @ CentralWorld is a fashion event where the latest summer fashion trends from world-class runway shows will be showcased. The theme of the event is inspired by trendy graphic patterns such as houndstooth, stripes and plaids. At the event on 26 March, there will be a fashion show featuring the 2013 Resort Collections and a fun party and concert performed by Sqweez Animal.
Midnight Resort presents Resort Collection 2013 @ CentralPlaza Grand Rama 9 is an event that will transform the shopping centre into Bangkok’s latest fashion destination where the 2013 Spring/Summer collections’ chic neon trends will be prominent. The theme of the event is ‘hyper-real brights and colour blocks’. There will also be a fun-filled fashion show and party attended by stars, celebrities and chic fashion icons. The event will be held on 29 March.
Cycle Chic @ CentralPlaza Ladprao will be held to showcase the latest trends of urban street wear. At the fashion event on April 3, there will be fashion show of 2013 Resort Collections.
CPN is confident in its position as the retailer with the most extensive range of fast fashion brands and bridge lines in the country. CPN’s comprehensive range of fashion brands and its upcoming international-standard fashion events will help boost the growth of the fashion industry in Thailand and help fashion brands grow their business alongside CPN’s own growth. These efforts will also highlight CPN’s status the number one retailer of fast-fashion apparel and bridge lines in the country and help promote Thailand as the ultimate fashion hub and shopping destination for both Thais and international tourists.
