Bangkok--22 Mar--Delivering Asia Communications Guests at Ramada Resort Khao Lak this month might find themselves in the mix with Barman of the Year 2012 and two-time Cocktail World Champion Mario Hofferer, who will be staying at the beachfront resort to host workshops for guests until the end of March along with his partner, Austrian female Cocktail Champion Stephanie Sieber. Mr Hofferer, 29, from Klagenfurt, Austria is a household name in Europe for his effortlessly stylish mixing skills, suave dress sense and unrivalled elegance while Ms Sieber is a rising star in global women's bartending and cocktail mixing competitions. Ramada Resort Khao Lak guests are invited to a free 'How to Mix a Cocktail' workshop with Mr Hofferer and Ms Sieber on March 23rd and March 28th from 2pm-4pm at Sassi's Beach Club SKY Bar, where the secrets of mixing the perfect cocktail will be divulged. Afterwards, guests and hotel employees will go head to head in a 'mix-stir-and-shake-off ' to win the coveted inaugural 'Ramada Resort Cocktail Champion' title as well as a competition to create a signature drink for the sun-drenched resort, judged by Mr Hofferer, Ms Sieber and resort F&B experts. The 'First Couple of Cocktails' will also wow guests with spectacular 'flairtending' displays, which combine dexterity and showmanship with elegance and restraint, and will also mix one cocktail and one mocktail at the resort's Weekly Sundowners where management mingles with guests each Wednesday. "This week it was a fantastic fresh Mango Puree, Grand Marnier and Champagne on top with a Golden Physalis on the rim... yummy," said Ramada Resort Khao Lak General Manager Michael Vorderleitner. "It's already a contender for the new signature cocktail for the resort." Following the March 28th workshop, the resort would also hold the 'Ultimate Evening of Cocktail Concoctions' from 9pm till late, with some unique and exotic recipes from the cocktail treasure box. Mr Vorderleitner said he was delighted to welcome Mr Hofferer, an old friend and former hospitality student, and Ms Sieber to Khao Lak. The resort had been buzzing, he added, since their arrival earlier this week. "Mario is here to take a break and prepare himself for the World Championship," he said. "On April 20th he will be in Miami for a training camp with Bacardi Martini before participating in the Finals of the Bacardi Legacy World Championships in Puerto Rico. At the same time Stephanie Sieber will represent Austria at the International Barkeeper Union World Championships against 56 Nations. "At this level, competition is tough and the pressure immense. But I'm delighted that during their stay, both have agreed to make themselves available for workshops, displays and mingling with our guests. "We have set up a mobile SKY Bar which can be moved from our rooftop to the beach, where Mario will showcase the real art of mixology, with moves, tips and tricks from flairtending, show and classic cocktail mixing in a way guests will never have seen before." Mr Hofferer pronounced himself delighted to be at Ramada Resort Khao Lak, and said he was feeling 'very relaxed' after several days unwinding on the property. "It's been wonderful to catch up with the General Manager, a very old friend, and to soak up some rays and some of the famous Thai hospitality," he said. "Now that we've had time to relax, we can get down to business with some serious cocktail action and I'm looking forward to sharing some tips and secrets not only with my fellow guests, but also with the resort's warm and friendly Thai staff." Ms Sieber said she was also happy to be in Thailand and was looking forward to being part of a very special double act. "Cocktails at the end of the day are best shared, it's a very social art despite the fierce competition. I'm hoping to raise a glass with some new friends, and show the guests here a few things that might surprise them." Mr Hofferer's honours include International Bartenders Association Cocktail World Champion 2011 and 2010, double Austrian National Champion, Barman of the Year 2012 and Leader of the Year 2011 (Rolling Pin). He also recently began hosting his own television show, Born to Mix, in Italy, sponsored by high end fruit juice maker Pago, and he is the face of luxury glass collections by Kallinich now sold in over 70 countries.
