- Thailand’s longest established boat builder and broker imports largest private yacht
SEAT Boat Co., Ltd., Thailand’s longest established fibreglass boat builder and broker recently imported it’s largest private yacht, valued at over Bht 32 million. The yacht, a 48-foot Meridian 441, built in the United States during nine months, was delivered to a private customer at Laem Chabang port.
Ms. Ruangrut Bencharit, Managing Director of SEAT Boat Co., Ltd., said, “We have seen a steady increase in interest in large, private yachts over the last 12 months, with an additional delivery, due in June this year, of a 40-foot Meridian valued at over Bht 24 million. The 48-foot Meridian 441 flybridge yacht that we recently delivered provides an ideal mix of outstanding on-board luxury with low operating costs, which has made the brand, and this model in particular, one of the best-selling flybridge yachts in the United States.”
She said the most important concern of customers in Thailand, even before price, was the availability of after-sales back-up to support the owner in the maintenance and upkeep of the boat.
“SEAT Boat’s 45-year track record in the industry combined with the fact that we have our own manufacturing and maintenance facilities and are the Thailand dealer for Mercury engines enables strong after-sales service for customers,” Ms. Ruangrut said.
The Meridian 441 can sleep up to 8 people on-board. It is powered by twin, state-of-the-art pod-drive Cummins engines delivering 960 horsepower. It has a range of 550 kilometres at a cruising speed of 50 kilometres per hour and burns approximately 3 litres per kilometre.
