Koh Samui : Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa is pleased to announce a high profile appointment to head the awarded culinary department, making a valuable addition to Renaissance Koh Samui Resort and Spa, Mr. Troy Burdon, as the new Head Chef.
Troy began his culinary career as a simple kitchen hand in Tasmania, after graduating with certificates from the Drysdale Institute of TAFE as well as the William Angliss Institute and has since risen through the ranks to become an award winning sous chef working in various restaurants in locations such as Melbourne and Queensland in Australia, and more recently in Copenhagen, Denmark and Greenland. In 2010, he took away the coveted second prize at the Greenland masters cooking competition and is currently writing his very first cookbook with the chef of Hotel Artic in Greenland.“I strive to keep all aspects of the kitchen at the highest level and I take pride in being a chef and enjoy working in a functional kitchen. I am always creating something new and always keep myself knowledgeable in the industry. I am very hard working and a team orientated chef always giving a hundred percent,” says Troy.
Troy’s interest includes scuba diving, food, wine and sports. The team at Renaissance Koh Samui Resort and Spa is excited about his arrival and anticipates great successes with him at the head of the F&B helm.
