AirAsia increases flights to "Chongqing" to 2 daily, doubling the opportunity to experience a city of rich history at the starting fare of only 1,990 THB per way.
AirAsia continues to bring travel convenience to China by increasing its "Bangkok-Chongqing" flights to twice daily, offering morning and afternoon flights to the historic city. To herald the addition, AirAsia is offering the route at a promotional fare starting at only 1,990 THB per way. Bookings are available from now until 30 April, 2013 for travel between 1 July, 2013 and 30 April, 2014.
Mr.Tassapon Bijleveld, Thai AirAsia CEO, pointed out that AirAsia's entry into the Chinese market has been exceptionally well received, especially during the first quarter of 2013 when the airline saw a 140% rise in Chinese passengers to Thailand compared to the previous year. The response has prompted AirAsia to further extend its network and enhance the convenience of its passengers to and from China.
"Chonqing is the center of travel investment in Southwest China and is home to an array of allures. It has quickly grown in popularity, seeing a load factor of 90% per flight in Q1, 2013. In response to this we have prepared to begin a second daily flight this 1 July. The new flight will depart from Bangkok at 14.00hrs and from Chongqing at 18.50 hrs."
On the tragic earthquake in Sichuan, which neighbors Chongqing, Mr. Tassapon expressed his condolences to those who were affected. The CEO remains optimistic that the situation would improve in light of the careful coordination of all involved. He affirmed AirAsia would continue with its plans to provide 2 daily flights between Bangkok-Chongqing so as to stimulate the economies of both China and Thailand.
