Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square continues its leadership role in eco-friendly, sustainable tourism with an innovative rooftop farm of Spirulina, a blue-green algae. The farm utilises ambient urban carbon dioxide as plant food, while reducing the radiant heat absorbed by the roof, resulting in energy savings. In cooperation with EnerGaia the farm complements the ongoing efforts to be an environmentally responsible hotel. Spirulina is a food supplement, low in calories and cholesterol, high in protein with a complete composition of vitamins and minerals essential for healthy living. The team of chefs are planning special menu items that will highlight the Spirulina for hotel guests to consume and enjoy the healthy benefits.
