Bangkok--15 May--Hewlett-Packard
Hewlett-Packard (Thailand) together with Cut&Paste held the ‘Cut&Paste CHARACTERIZED 2013’ design competition aimed at finding talented Thai designers and animators, and driving the development of design community in Thailand through innovations.
The Cut&Paste design competitions that take place annually have provided opportunities for designers and animators to showcase their work and see for themselves the master designers at work and learn from them. Locations of competitions this year were in nine cities around the world including Bangkok. This year’s theme “Characterized 2013” was centered the creation of original characters on-stage by three teams of two designers, each using HP Z1 workstations.
The winners for the Cut&Paste Bangkok are Naradhip Pasapirom and Yuthajit Ogawa’s who designed the ‘Hanuman Peace’n Love’ characterizing Hanuman as a superhero that brings peace and love to the world. They won HP ZR2440W high-performance displays.
Besides the on-stage competition, the event also featured an off-stage design competition “Mess with [Jess]”. The audience took photos of themselves at the HP “Mess with [Jess]” booth, then used any of the HP workstations on display to work on their photo, did artistic rendering, and came up with a unique, interesting design. The winner received a HP 8470w mobile workstation.
Mr. Thitaphon Boonprasit, business director, Printing and Personal Systems Group, Hewlett-Packard (Thailand), said about the Cut&Paste CHARACTERIZED 2013 design competition, ‘HP is extremely honored to be supporting the event this year. Through our partnership with Cut&Paste, we hope to drive more opportunities in the design space and support our local design talents’. We hope that HP’s innovations will help unleash creativity of Thai designers and drive new creative ideas.”
