Other than sugar, the company also produces paper pulp from cane bagasse, ethanol produced from molasses, and a biomass power plant that is in the works and estimated to be completed and commercially operated in the next month. “Nathapun Siriviriyakul”, Chief Executive Officer of Bio Energy and Product, confirms that the company's growth direction must concurrently support sugarcane farmers, which are considered to be the most important aspect of KTIS's success, so that there will no problem relating to the lack of raw materials. Moreover, the company is strongly committed to maintain the leadership of being a top sugar manufacturer and distributor all while looking forward to its business expansion of the sugar industry and creating value added from the continuous business. Mr. Nathapun Siriviriyakul, Chief Executive Officer of Bio Energy and Product, Kaset Thai International Sugar Corporation Public Company Limited (KTIS), said that the company is the largest entrepreneur in the national and international sugar industry. Kaset Thai Sugar Factory is located in Nakhonsawan and has a capacity of 50,000 sugarcane tons per day, which is considered to be the largest capacity in the world. In fact, Thailand is the second largest sugar exporter in the world behind Brazil. The Thai sugar industry has very good production technologies and its production costs can be controlled to maintain them to be in the world's top rank. Thus, making the Thai sugar industry continuously to grow, especially Kaset Thai International Sugar Corporation Public Company Limited. The company has remarkably grown from the first sugar factory in Nakhonsawan by purchasing the factory with a capacity of 500 sugarcane tons per day. Later, the sugar industry of the company has significantly grown because the company had developed and generated machines by itself, proudly resulting to the reduced machinery costs of the company which is lower than the cost to imported machineries. Moreover, these machineries are good in quality and the engineering team of the can directly manage and maintain them at its best. Other than the development of production machineries, the company also encourages and supports sugarcane farmers by promoting and supporting the cultivation of sugarcane. For example, the company established an agricultural school to provide education and skill to farmers of the cultivation and harvest process. In addition, the company also researched and developed the seed of sugarcane by cooperating with farmers and the NSTDA in order to improve the quality of taste and high ton/Rai yield. Moreover, this also resulted to the area, which was originally unable to plant, to be the sugarcane plantation area with a good yield. Currently, the total capacity of the company group is 83,000 sugarcane tons per day, which is derived from Thai Kaset Factory accounting for 50,000 sugarcane tons per day, Thai Identity Factory accounting for 18,000 sugarcane tons per day, and Ruampol Factory accounting for 15,000 sugarcane tons per day. With over 40 years in operation, the company is the fastest growing entrepreneur in the sugar industry and also the leading sugar entrepreneur in Thailand. “The main business goal of the company is to generate revenue for sugarcane farmers and build stability for the KTIS group. Our main raw material of business operation is sugarcane. Therefore, farmers are very important to us. In reference to the industry, which resulted from sugar, there are currently 3 subsidiaries consisting of; 1. Thai Environment Pulp and Paper Company Limited (EPPCO), operating the business of bleached paper pulp manufacturer and distributor with a capacity of 100,000 tons per year; 2. Ekaratpattana Company Limited (EPC), operating the business of Ethanol manufacturer and distributor with a capacity of 230,000 liters per day, having molasses as the raw material of Ethanol used in the industry and as a fuel; and Kaset Thai Bio Power Company Limited (KTBP), the biomass power plant generated from sugar cane bagasse with a capacity of 60 Megawatts, which is under construction andis estimated to be commercially operated in the next month. Furthermore, the total revenue of the company in 2012 is 24,630.8 million Baht, increased by 2,556.1 million Baht comparing to the same period of the previous year, accounting for 22,074.6 million Baht. The increased revenue derives from the sale of sugar, paper pulp and ethanol. The net profit of the company in 2012 is 2,506.3 million Baht, increased by 1,395.9 million Baht comparing to the same period of the previous year, accounting for 1,110.4 million Baht.
