Rodenstock, the No.1 manufacturer of optical lenses and frames in Germany and distributor of world class eyewear such as Rodenstock, Porche Design, Mercedes Benz, Alfred Dunhill and the latest luxury Baldessarini. With the launch of luxury Baldessarini, the company expects to contribute 10% for its overall sales. Rodenstock believes the sale growth for the optical frames in Thailand will remain over 30% this year.
Mr.Guenter Raichle, managing director of Rodenstock Asia and Rodenstock Thailand said ‘optical frames business in Thailand has been increasing with an average of 5% every year. Last year, the company increased its sales of 30% from the previous year and expects to achieve the increasing sales of 30% this year.
Targeting aged 18-38 years, the sale of the newest Baldessarini from Germany is expected to contribute 10% from the company’s overall sales this year. The company also expects its sale to rise to 20% within the next three years. The Baldessarini price ranging is about 7,000 -15,000 Baht.
Currently Rodenstock offers premium licensed eyewear in Thailand which ranked from revenue - Porche Design, Rodenstock, Alfred Dunhill, Mercedes Benz and the newest Baldessarini. Our market share is 4-5% from the total optical frames around 6,000 million Baht.
Rodenstock is worldwide represented by sales branches in 21 countries. Three of which are located in the Republic of China, Japan and Thailand. Revenues for the business in 2012 were ? 380 million. Asia now contributes around 20% of the company’s global sales, while 35% in Germany, 20% in Europe and 25% others. Rodenstock aims to increase the global sales to ? 410 million this year.
After the official launching on Baldessarini, the company announced 15 exclusively authorized retailers for Baldessarini.
