Global nutrition company, Herbalife (NYSE: HLF), closed its Asia Pacific Extravaganza 2013 on a high note. Held at Impact Exhibition and Convention Centre from June 14 to 16, the Extravaganza in Bangkok drew over 23,000 Herbalife independent distributors from and beyond Asia Pacific countries, promising to be the largest mega event in Thailand this year with expected revenues of 1,840 million baht (US$60 million).
In addition to Bangkok, Herbalife Asia Pacific Extravaganza 2013 was also held simultaneously in Bangalore and Seoul to facilitate the demand from the ever expanding network of Herbalife independent distributors. Spanning over the three major Asian cities, the Herbalife Asia Pacific Extravaganza 2013 attracted a record 55,000 distributors, demonstrating a remarkable 22% increase in the number of participants compared with last year.
During the three-day event, Herbalife has offered an array of programs to their independent distributors ranging from leadership training and business strategy discussion to sharing of success stories and testimonials, with sessions all led by Herbalife leaders. There were also product and health knowledge building and updates presented by nutrition experts, with distinguished speakers including Dr. David Heber, Chairman of Herbalife Nutrition Institute and Nutrition Advisory Board.
As part of Herbalife’s commitment to help improve the lives of at-risk and low-income children, the Extravaganza also helped raise funds for its Casa Herbalife programs in the Asia Pacific region. The Casa Herbalife program, which is the flagship program of the Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF), provides financial resources and volunteer support to non-profit organizations in the area of healthy nutrition programs for vulnerable children. To date, 21 Casa Herbalife programs have been established across the countries in Asia Pacific, helping more than 4,800 children receive better nutrition on a daily basis.
