Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd. is preparing to highlight sporty vehicles that have been attentively and carefully customized with genuine factory-fitted Mazda accessories at the Bangkok International Auto Salon (BIAS) from June 20-30 at the Challenger Hall 2-3, Muangthong Thani. Among the exhibits are the Mazda2, Mazda3 and the MX-5 roadster, as well as the BT-50 “PRO SERIES” that is making its debut and is offered for sale to customers.
Mr. Choichi Yuki, Managing Director of Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd. (MST) said Mazda’s sporty character is inherited through its DNA from model to model. “The special models or limited edition models from Mazda have been creating waves in the Thai auto market, such as the Mazda2 Limited Edition and the Mazda3 S+. At the Auto Salon we will be emphasizing the sportiness to our sporty and sedan-like BT-50 PRO pickup truck with the “PRO SERIES” version. This is considered as a pioneering move for the Thai pickup market, especially with the sporty accessories having their own unique character and styling, along with functionality in every way. This customization project will change the face of the Thai pickup industry,” he said.
A total of 1,000 units of the Mazda BT-50 PRO SERIES will be made available. Retail pricing has been set at Bt810,000 for the white double cab Hi Racer 2-wheel-drive powered by the 2,200cc. Di-THUNDER PRO engine with 6-speed manual transmission. Meanwhile, the black and aurora blue versions will carry a price tag of Bt817,000.
Sureetip La-Ongthong Chomthongdee, Marketing Director of MST said that this is the second year that the company is taking part in the BIAS, after becoming highly successful last year. “Mazda wants to communicate our sportiness and unique character, outstanding beauty and excellent performance through the vehicles that we sell in the market as well as through special edition models that has earned high praise for their beautiful styling and sportiness. In particular is the MX-5 roadster which is considered as a sports car icon for Mazda,” she said.
Mazda will exhibit a total of 8 specially customized cars and limited edition models at the BIAS, and offer customers the opportunity to become owners, in addition to bringing a variety of special accessories for customers to experience.
Mazda BT-50 PRO SERIES sports pickup
The inspiration from the DNA of new-generation Mazda automobiles similar to the “THRILLING-50 Concept” that emphasizes aggressive sports styling is being used as an icon for the Mazda brand in Thailand. This has resulted in the creation of the new Mazda BT-50 PRO, the sports pickup that breaks away from the traditional ways to impress sports cars lovers with its perfect balance of sportiness and luxury.
The BT-50 PRO SERIES is the latest 4-door crossover pickup creation from Mazda that breaks all the rules in pickup truck styling. Highlights include all-round aero parts, sports front guard, new two-tone rear bumper with rear skirt, matt black side steps, sports styling bar, LED brakes lights, bed liner, special red PRO logo, sports pedals, and rubber mats with red BT-50 PRO logo. Only 1,000 orders will be accepted.
Mazda2 Limited Edition
Mazda2 fans will be delighted with the Mazda2 Limited Edition that features genuine factory-fitted accessories all over the car. They include new LED headlights that are unique in the segment, new front grille design, rear skirt with air diffuser, chrome door handles, Limited Edition graphic decal, cool-looking stainless exhaust, short antenna, and 16-inch polished silver alloy wheels. The sportiness level of the interior has also been raised with black fabric upholstery with red stitching and Mazda2 logo and leather-wrapped steering wheel also with red stitching. Three are three body colors to choose from — Zeal Red Mica, Arctic White and Mica Black. Retail prices are Bt691,000 for the 5-door Sports hatchback and Bt686,000 for the 4-door Elegance sedan. Only 1,000 units will be available.
Mazda3 S+
The new 1.6-liter Mazda3 S+ gets special accessories to increase its sportiness level such as side skirts, new design roof spoiler, Sports Black roof color, Gun Metallic 17-inch alloy wheels, black leather upholstery with red stitching for the sports seats, door panels, center armrest and steering wheel. The car is available in three colors — Arctic White, True Red and Highlight Silver. Again, only 1,000 units will be offered, and retail prices are Bt860,000 for the sedan and Bt888,000 for the 5-door hatchback.
NEW THRILLING 4 CONCEPT
The Mazda3 New THRILLING 4 Concept has been specially designed and customized with inspiration coming from Mazda’s KODO Design (Soul of Motion) that was first incorporated in the Mazda SHINARI, TAKERI and MINAGI. This includes an octagonal front grille and unique air scoops on the left and right that is blended with a modern luxury styling that seamlessly combines modern design and elegant styling cues. Featuring a new Chrome Silver body paint, this concept also comes with newly-design front and rear aero parts, new side skirts, stainless exhausts left and right, brushed silver VERTINI MONACO wheels (8.5x20in front and 9.5x20 rear), ventilated and drilled 370mm brake discs both front and rear with large 6-pot calipers in front and medium 6-pot calipers at the rear, black-beige Alcantara leather wrapped RECARO Sportster seats, xenon headlights with blue aura rings and LED, daytime running lights, new rear lights with additional LED, LED reflectors on the rear bumper, adjustable struts and lowering springs from BC Sport.
NEW THRILLING 5 CONCEPT
The Mazda3 New THRILLING 5 Concept is dressed up with aero parts all-round and features a new Black Carbon body color. There are new front and rear bumpers with stainless exhaust mufflers left and right, new side skirts, new roof spoiler, air scoop on the engine compartment lid, red NAYA MESSE wheels (8.5x20 front and 9.5x20 rear), drilled and ventilated 370mm brake discs, with large 6-pot calipers in front and medium 6-pot calipers at the rear. The interior features Bride CUGO sports seats with carbon fiber back design, steering wheel wrapped with black and red Alcantara leather, door panels and center armrest also with Alcantara upholstery, xenon headlights with red aura rings and LED, daytime running lights, new rear lights with additional LED, LED reflectors on the rear bumper, adjustable struts with BC Sport lowering springs, and stainless exhaust system with rainbow dye on the 11cm mufflers left and right. The THRILLING 5 CONCEPT carries a racing car theme and emphasis is on the aggressiveness of the aero parts that is capable of turning heads with its stunning looks.
