Thai Digital Content Industry Acquires Alliances to Ensure Firm Stance in Asia

Bangkok--5 Jul--Marketing Integration Over 50 Thai companies participate in Thailand Digital Content Business Matching and Conference held by The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) and Software Industry Promotion Agency (SIPA) and Thai Animation & Computer Graphic Association (TACGA) during 4 -6 July at Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao. The event is aimed to enhance business opportunities for Thai digital content industry in Japan, China, and Korea, as well as preparing Thailand for the realization of Asean Economic Community (AEC). During the conference, leading industry gurus from Japan and China offer in-depth presentations about digital content businesses in their countries and how to penetrate it. The conference is followed by business matching sessions between Thai and Japanese, Chinese, and Korean companies. Thai digital content industry which includes animation, visual effect, game, and e-learning is worth over 1.4 billion baht and rapidly increasing. Thailand has been successful in providing content for foreign firms and is globally recognized as an excellent venue for outsource services. However, Thailand still has vast opportunity to grow in character licensing and brand creation. The challenges the industry are facing include lack of funding, access to local consumers, and workforce. For years, both the government and private sectors have been working together to ensure Thai digital content industry is well equipped for the upcoming economic integration of Asean countries.“Character licensing is an ongoing income source. If the animation film becomes successful, character licensing could generate many folds of income for several years. With adequate funding and government support, I’m confident that many Thai companies are capable of creating winning licensed characters.
