Bangkok--11 Jul--AirAsia
Thailand Post has joined hands with AirAsia to revolutionize domestic express mail with “EMS Super Speed” allowing mail submitted before 10.30hrs to fly with AirAsia and be delivered on the same day! The service is being piloted on 3 routes; Chiang Mai, Phuket and Hat Yai, and has been tailored to service the growing SME and Online Shopping sectors. Ms. Anusara Jittmitraphap, President of Thailand Post Co. Ltd., remarked that the postal service is always ready to introduce new solutions. On the occasion of the company’s 10th anniversary and 130 years of postal services in Thailand, Thailand Post is looking to aid Thai citizens through its most popular service, Express Mail Service (EMS), by developing it to even greater speeds.
“Thailand Post has joined hands with AirAsia, one of its greatest allies due to its comprehensive network of destinations across Thailand, to introduce ‘EMS Super Speed’. The service allows for the delivery of mail at a special speed that completes the delivery within the same day. With submissions closing at 10.30hrs, EMS Super Speed is able to put the delivery in the hands of its intended receiver in Bangkok by 17.30hrs and even earlier at 16.30hrs for deliveries in other cities when picked up at the airport or by no later than 20.30hrs at home. The service comes complete with insurance against loss and 24 hour tracking via the Track&Trace App or www.thailandpost.co.th. No longer will senders and receivers have to worry throughout their wait as Thailand Post officers will also coordinate and report deliveries by phone”.
Mr. Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia, said that both AirAsia and Thailand Post are experts at transport, making their cooperation one of unprecedented speed. AirAsia will be fulfilling the role of transporter in the “EMS Super Speed” service with its 14.00hrs flights handling the daily deliveries. The service is being piloted on 3 major routes; Chiang Mai, Hat Yai and Phuket, and includes a hand off to local postal agents.
“AirAsia is honored to be able to support the success and economic development of the Thai people in coordination with Thailand Post and hopes this new service will prove to be a direct solution for online shopping businesses, which have always depended on postal services. The service should provide them with the option of same-day delivery, guaranteed by Thai AirAsia’s stellar on-time record. The EMS Super Speed service is sure to grow rapidly” Mr. Tassapon said.
EMS Super Speed will begin service this July 15 at all 17 Thailand Post offices in Bangkok and its immediate vicinities, including at its offices at Samsen Nai, Chatuchak, Laksi, Khlong Chan, Rangsit, Bangna and Don Mueang Airport. The service will also be available in the Muang districts and main airports of Chiang Mai, Hat Yai and Phuket.
