Bangkok--23 Jul--124 Communication KFC reaffirms its food safety policy in selecting only trustworthy suppliers whose every process is traceable to ensure safety. The rice used at every KFC restaurant is clean, safe and free from contamination, sourced from suppliers who have passed recognized standards such as Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), BRC, HALAL, ISO9001, ISO14001 and contamination test. Ingredients are tested in laboratory to detect levels of pesticides, mycotoxin, microbiological toxin and heavy metal to make sure that its safety standard is strictly followed. From the current issue of methyl bromide in rice, which has maximum residue limits (MRLs) of 50mg per a kilo of rice, as stated by the Codex Alimentarius Commission, KFC confirms that the rice used at every KFC restaurant has less than 5mg of methyl bromide residue per a kilo of rice, which is significantly better than the standard. Hygiene and safety are our top priorities, and this is the policy that KFC worldwide adopts and adheres to in our products and services.
