The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) joins its allied securities companies in promoting online investment among students from 18 universities nationwide through the investment campaign “Click2Win Campus League 2013 initiative”, to introduce a new generation of quality investors to the capital market. Over 4,000 students are expected to take part.
SET President Charamporn Jotikasthira said: “Internet and technology are now more prominent and make life more convenient than before. Thus, the Thai bourse has been constantly developing new technologies to help investors and interested individuals learn about investment through the SET and Thailand Futures Exchange so that they will have more understanding and confidence before actually investing. In the latest endeavor, the SET has launched the Click2Win online game simulating stock-derivatives investing. The Thai bourse first introduced this program in 2007 and, so far, more than 1,000 demonstration classes have been organized, with over 300,000 participants. More than 40% of participants were aged between 18-22 years, with 25% being university students.”
“Such findings show that the new generation is considerably interested in finance and investment. SET and its allies will visit all participating universities to offer training and intensive workshops to boost students’ financial literacy and provide better understanding about investment alternatives before each university’s competition takes place. This collaboration will not only benefit students, but also their educational institutions and the capital market, thus strengthening the Thai economy,” Charamporn added.
The Click2Win Campus League 2013 has started accepting applications from students of participating universities via www.settrade.com/click2win from today until July 31, 2013. The competition will be held during August 1 to September 30, with results to be announced in October. In addition to Click2Win Campus League 2013, the bourse has also launched other simulation programs: “Click2Win Live” for the general public; “Click2Win@Broker”, arranged with SET’s allied securities companies, and “Click2Win@Province” via the regional SET Investment Center.
