The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will hold its quarterly "Opportunity Day" (OppDay) series, where top managements of listed companies meet directly with analysts and investors, on August 5-September 12. This quarter’s activity has improved content and channels, by enabling investors to compare companies by sector and follow the event via Android operating system.
There are 115 firms and funds, with a combined THB 4.07 trillion (approx. USD 131 billion) in market capitalization, participating in this OppDay series: 89 SET-listed companies, 24 Market for Alternative Investment (mai)-listed firms, and two property funds. The total of 115 includes five newly-listed companies, including Cho Thavee Dollasien pcl (CHO), East Coast Furnitech pcl (ECF), MC Group pcl (MC), Premier Products pcl (PPP), Nok Airlines pcl (NOK).
Paveena Sriphothong, SET Senior Vice President, said: “Investors get more convenience than before, as they can now view the series on Android operating systems and this is the first time that Opp Day presentations will be grouped by sector, enabling investors to compare companies in the same sector. We offer a four-day presentation covering four highly-popular groups: Energy & Utilities, Information & Communication Technology, Property, and companies in mai, with five firms a day for each group. The Association of Thai Securities Companies will provide analysts from Maybank Kim Eng Securities (Thailand) pcl. and Kiatnakin Securities Co., Ltd. to join in analyzing each industry for investors.”
Opp Days can viewed using App OppDay for tablets on Android, with free downloads available at Play Store from now on, in addition to the already-existing app for iPads.
SET also plans to hold Opp Days in the Northeast and East on August 23 and September 6, enabling investors there to ask questions of top managements directly, after Opp Days in the north received a warm welcome.
Opportunity Days makes it convenient for analysts, investors, and the media to find out directly about the business and operations of companies - and for firms to communicate with these key audiences.
