Vacationing Thai families are choosing overwhelmingly to stay ‘close to home’ this Mother’s Day and Phuket is their number one destination of choice.
These findings are based on flight search data (by families) collected by leading global travel search site Skyscannerfor the period August 9-12. In terms of by-country data, Thailand attracted 276% more flight search requests than Singapore, the next most popular travel spot.
Drilling down into by-destination data, Phuket is the top pick for vacationing Thai familiesover the Mother’s Day long weekend. The famous island resort is one of four Thai holiday hotspots in the top-10 most popular destinations list — the other cities to feature are Bangkok, KohSamui and Chiang Mai.
