Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali has graciously chaired the function of Ratree Nava Maha Rachinee Sri Pandin [The Night of the Great Queen of King Rama IX, Beloved Queen of the Land]”. The function was jointly organized by the seven women’s organizations, which are the National Outstanding Mother Association of Bangkok, chaired by Chansamorn Wattanavekin, the Federation of Female Territory Defense Volunteers of Thailand, chaired by M.R. Wannaporn Suknetr, the Business and Professional Women’s Association of Thailand, chaired by Panida Chobwanitcha, Kiat Ruam Mitr for Education Foundation, chaired by Khunying Natthika Wattanavekin Angubolkul, the Women’s Association for Women, chaired by Sirina Chokewattana Pawaroranwitthaya, the Women Relations Association, chaired by Aris Lertthavornkij, the Federation of Hakka Women Associations in Thailand, chaired by Phetcharat Thepchatree. The event was held at the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel to mark the occasion of 81st birthday anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen on August 12 2013. The event also marked the conclusion of the “Seven Women Organizations Doing Good Deeds for Mother” project. During the event, seven best outstanding women and 49 outstanding women, who have been helping the works of the women’s organizations, were awarded with trophies and medals.
Chansamorn, the chief organizer of the event, said the event was held to report the latest development of activities held to honor Her Majesty the Queen under the theme of Nava Maha Rachinee Sri Pandin by the seven women organizations, namely the National Outstanding Mother Association of Bangkok, the Federation of Female Territory Defense Volunteers of Thailand, the Business and Professional Women’s Association of Thailand, Kiat Ruam Mitr for Education Foundation, the Women’s Association for Women, the Women Relations Association, the Federation of Hakka Women Associations in Thailand. The activities were launched to make merit for Her Majesty the Queen on the occasion that she turned 77 years old. The project lasted three years and concluded when Her Majesty turned 80 years old. The event was also held to celebrate the 81st birthday anniversary of Her Majesty on August 12 2013. The women organizations also organized the celebration for Her Majesty in her capacity as the Queen of King Rama IX of the Chakkri Dynasty and the celebration also marked Her Majesty being honored as “the mother and teacher of the land”.
The event was attended by more than 500 honorable guests, including members of the seven women organizations, which joined hands to organize the event. HRH Princess Soamsawali, who presided over the function, arrived in a royal car at 7 pm. The Princess was welcomed by the chairs and presidents of the seven women organizations and the committees and members of the organizations as well as other honorable guests. The Princess graciously granted permission to the organizers of the event, honorable performers and VIP guests to take photos with her in front of the Grand Balloon before she entered the ballroom to preside over the celebration.
Chansamorn and other leaders of the seven women’s organizations read a speech in praise of Her Majesty the Queen and to wish Her Majesty a happy birthday. Lalida Chantharaprasert, the chair of the event organizing committee, reported the goal of the event to the Princess. Then, Maleerat Pluemchitchom, the co-chair of the event organizing and the chair of the outstanding women project of the seven women organizations reported the details of the project to the Princess. She said the project was held to honor and provide moral support to committees and members of the seven women organizations for their charity works, which were done during the past three years to follow example of good deeds of Her Majesty. The seven leaders of the project of Women Organizations Doing Good Deeds for Mother were awarded the prize of best outstanding women. And 49 members, seven from each organization who were selected by their organization’s committee, were awarded as outstanding women. The sponsors of the event were also awarded trophies and medals for having supported the works of the seven women organizations.
After the awarding ceremony, honorable singers performed for the Princess. Among the singers, Nithinan and Chamaiporn Angubolkul sang the “I’m Woman” song. Then, Withoon, Kamthorn, and Pornwich Sila-on sang the “Ruk Mae [Love Mother]” song. Sudapim Phophakdee sang “The Greatest Love of All” song. The highlight of the show was the “Ratree Nava Maha Rachinee Sri Pandin” dance, which was performed together with three songs, Saeng Song Thai, Somdej and Kha Khue Khon Thai. Honorable performers took part in the show by dressing as heroes and heroines in past. The show was aimed at reminding the participants of the event that they are all Thais living under the kindness of Their Majesties so that they will have determination to heed advice of Her Majesty and follow Her Majesty’s example. Another show was called Phan Pilas Ratchanaree. It was performed to show that the seven women organizations have been carrying out good deeds to follow example of Her Majesty. The event ended with the lighting of candles and the singing of the Sadudee Maha Raja (In Praise of Great King) song to praise His Majesty before HRH Princess Soamsawali left.
