MC GROUP announced a nearly 20% jump in net profit for the first half of 2013 and declared an interim dividend of 0.125 baht per share

Bangkok--15 Aug--The Way Communication MC GROUP PLC recorded a net profit of 344 million baht for the first half of 2013 which is equivalent to an increase of 19% compared to the net profit of 288 million baht during the first half of 2012 (based on pro forma financial statements that assumed the current shareholding and management structure and as if MC GROUP PLC were founded since Jan 1st, 2010). For the second quarter of 2013, MC GROUP posted a net profit of 163 million baht or a hike of 10% from the same period in 2012. Furthermore, the Board of Directors of MC GROUP declared an interim dividend of 0.125 baht per share amounting to 100 million baht in dividend payment. For first half performance, MC GROUP has declared interim dividend in totaling above 80% of net profit. Growth in net profit was resulted mainly from continuous expansion of sales network while sales revenues edged up 17% compared to the first half of 2012 or 10% from the 2nd quarter of 2012. Gross profit margin also rose significantly from constant improvements in production efficiency and cost control together with profitability management advantages from higher proportion of Company-owned free standing shops. As of 30 June 2013, MC GROUP’s distribution network footprint reached 554 points of sales (140 free standing shops, 407 points of sales in modern trade and another 7 points of sales through international agents), an increase from 511 points of sales at the end of 2012 (117 free standing shops and 394 points of sales in modern trade) which is in line with its network expansion plan. For the 2nd half of 2013, MC GROUP is certain to further expand and exceed its previous target of 584 points of sales within the end of 2013, so the Company has revised its 2013 expansion target to 601 points of sales. On the product development front, MC GROUP has launched 3 new brands, namely Mc Pink (Fashion brand for ladies), Mc Mini (quality brand for kids) and Blue Brothers (Premium jeans and apparels). The objective was to promote variety and offer choices for consumers of all ages and types. In addition to new brands, MC GROUP has also premiered its new online shopping website www.WoWme.co.th to introduce special prices lifestyle items for trendy consumers. The website will offer not only quality products under Mc brands but also other leading international brands. MC GROUP strongly believes that this alternative online channel will contribute further to the Company’s growth in the future. The ex-dividend date (XD) will be on August 29 , 2013 and the record date determining the rights of shareholders to receive dividend payment will be on September 2 , 2013. The name list of shareholders will be determined on September 3, 2013 and the dividend will be payable on September 13, 2013.
