Coca-Cola drives ‘Coke Music Awards 2013’ full speed ahead — holds music workshop for aspiring teen bands

Bangkok--30 Aug--Bangkok Public Relations - 15 finalists exclusively trained by 3 team leaders; 25 Hours, Lipta and Mild - Teen bands receive guidance from judges and master musicians Keng Panuwat, Gor Groove Riders, Tong P.O.P., Tor Silly Fools, Neung Jakkawal and Moy Believe Records Coca-Cola, the popular brand of beverage in Thailand and the world from the Coca-Cola system in Thailand, recently held ‘Coke Music Awards 2013 workshop’ — two days of intensive training for the 15 bands shortlisted from ‘Coke Music Awards 2013.’ The aspiring artists were divided into three teams each trained exclusively by team leaders who are professional musicians, including 25 Hours, Lipta and Mild. All musical tricks were shared to prepare them for live performances before a panel of judges comprising master musicians — the like of Keng Panuwat, Gor Groove Riders, Tong, P.O.P., Tor Silly Fools, Neung Jakkawal and Moy Believe Records. The workshop was held at the Faculty of Communication Building of Bangkok University, Rangsit Campus. The judges of Coke Music Awards 2013 have shortlisted 9 bands (out of 15 bands) to compete in the final round. Which are: 1. Dao Pluto 2. Jook-Kook-Jik-Ka-Dik 3. Lunatic 4. Go Bow 5. Castaway 6. Object in the pants 7. Jikko-Gu-Bo-Band 8. NMK Superband 9. Electro Active Ms. Natha Boonprasit, Public Relations Manager of Coca-Cola (Thailand) ) Ltd., said, “We hold Coke Music Awards 2013 to provide Thai teens with a stage for creative musical expression. The workshop offered the 15 bands shortlisted from 583 bands the opportunity to train musical techniques and knowledge with Thailand’s top musicians and veteran gurus in the music industry so they can improve on what they already have and gain music experience needed for a live show before the judges.” “Today, we proved with Coke Music Awards that music is a universal medium helping us to communicate with teens in any era. Not only does Coke Music Awards offer them new music experience, it also has some of Thailand’s best in the music industry on hand to share techniques and tricks with the contestants. We believe this stage will give the Thai music industry quality new stars.” Member of Dao Pluto, one of the 15 shortlisted bands, said, “We are so happy to be among the 15 shortlisted bands of Coke Music Awards 2013 and we are even more impressed with the workshop. We can reach them if we try and do our best.” The Coke Music Awards 2013 workshop began with Keng Panuwat, a music guru and former producer behind the success of many Thai artists, sharing information and ideas the 15 bands can use to grab attention as well as the overview of the music industry. Also on hand to inspire the young musicians was Pangko who found fame from building a fan club on You Tube and was later signed up as recording artist. After the warm-up session, the 15 finalists introduced band members. There were divided into three teams of five bands to participate in the workshop hosted by Thailand’s three leading artists: 25 Hours, Lipta and Mild. Bands from each team will perform live on stage to show their talent and receive guidance from expert judges, including Notapol Srichomkwan (Gor Groove Riders), Montien Kaewkamnerd (Tong P.O.P.), Tortrakul Baingern (Tof Silly Fools), Jakkawal Saothongyuttitum (Neung Jakkawal) and Samkwan Tunsompong (Moy). After the workshop, the 15 finalists will release the power of music in live show. Only nine bands will remain for the final round of Coke Music Awards 2013 on 21 September at Work Point Studio. The winning band of Coke Music Awards 2013 will collaborate with Potato and win a prize of Bht 1 million. They will also be signed up as Coke brand ambassador. Coke Music Awards has, as never accomplished before by any music contest ever, produced some of Thailand’s most revolutionary and prolific musicians, including Modern Dog, Pause, Haruethai ‘Ooh’ Muangboonsri, Phuwanat ‘Unn’ Kunplin, Inca’s Nont Singholka, Tik Shiro, Theerapat ‘Tui’ Sujjakul, Koh Mr, Saxman, Smile Buffalo, Jay Jaitmont, as well as Penguin Villa.
