Siam Solvay Foundation (SSF), Solvay Group’s foundation established to promote and provide suitable welfare for children in Thailand, is cooperating with Duang Prateep Foundation to launch the Story-telling and Puppet Show project on the topic “Protection Against Dengue Fever” at the Meeting Room on the third floor at the Office of Ban Chang Subdistrict Municipality in Rayong.
The Story-telling and Puppet Show project on the topic “Protection Against Dengue Fever” is set up to improve general health and enhance relationships in communities and schools in Rayong. Siam Solvay Foundation (SSF) and Duang Prateep Foundation have recently launched the project’s pilot in Ban Chang District and Map Ta Phut Subdistrict in Rayong.
The show will be presented as a mobile puppet troupe on the topic “How to prevent dengue fever”. The project aims to promote health consciousness and best practices among children, parents, teachers and local communities in Rayong, by means of apron storytelling, puppet shows, health knowledge exhibition and game playing in Rayong schools including Ban Payoon School, Ban Khlong Sai School, Wat Noen Kraprok School, Wat Sa Kaeo School, Wat Sombooranaram School and Ban Nong Fab School.
"This project will benefit children, parents, teachers, and the local communities in Rayong because they will learn how to protect themselves from dengue fever with these educational and fun activities. They can adapt this knowledge into their daily lives in order to reduce illness and promote better health. Moreover, all families and local communities can build good relationship because they can join in this activity together,” said Siriporn Wutthilaohaphan, Chairwoman of Siam Solvay Foundation.
The Siam Solvay Foundation collaborates with Duang Prateep Foundation to continuously support and contribute to community and society. For example, the Baan-Din Cultural Center project was established to provide educational opportunities to children orphaned and made homeless by the Tsunami in Southern Thailand during 2005-2011. Now, the foundation has launched the Story-telling and Puppet Show project on the topic “Protection Against Dengue Fever” as the most recent cooperation scheme for social responsibility.
