TMB and ING Bank will organize a charity mini-marathon, TMB | ING ParkRun 2013 on Sunday, September 15 in the adjacent three scenic public parks of Bangkok. Under the theme ‘RUN to Make THE Difference’, which participants focus not on the competitive side of running but rather to run for a good social cause. All proceeds will go to TMB Foundation to be allocated as a fund for the education of children left orphaned by the violence in the three southern provinces, who are under the care of the Education for Development Foundation. Tickets are at 300 Baht including a complimentary exclusive TMB | ING ParkRun 2013 running T-shirt and available for sale now until September 10, 2013 at ThaiTicketMajor. To raise more funds, runners are asked to put their distance goals in writing at www.makethedifference.org/parkrun, share the registered pages on their Facebook and invite friends to register and cheer them on. Every individual who cheers a runner on makes a commitment to show their support by donating 5 Baht multiplied by the total number of kilometers the runner completes. Donations will be made to TMB | ING ParkRun 2013: TMB Bank Account No. 001-9-26966-1. At the end of the race, the total amount of donations from the cheering section (based on the accumulated kilometers completed by the racers) will be topped up by TMB.
TMB | ING ParkRun 2013 offers three categories of race distance — 2 kilometer walk, 4 and 10.5 kilometer run. Besides distance, total categories for the running competition are 18 categories divided by gender, and age. All runners who reach the Finish line will be awarded by Make THE Difference medals. The 1st — 3rd place of each category will receive a trophy, cash prize of 5,000 Baht, 2,000 Baht and 1,000 Baht, respectively and total 54 trophies will be awarded.
