THAI Reports on Progress of Flight TG679 Incident

Bangkok--12 Sep--Thai Airways Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) reports on progress of the removal of flight TG679 aircraft from runway 19L at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Dr. Sorajak Kasemsuvan, THAI President, reports that THAI has successfully recovered its Airbus A330-300 aircraft from Suvarnabhumi Airport runway 19L, where the aircraft slid off the runway after landing on 8 September 2013. Mr. Voradej Harnprasert, Director-General of The Department of Civil Aviation, obtained the required incident information and granted permission for THAI to remove the Airbus A330-300 aircraft from runway 19L. On behalf of THAI, Dr. Sorajak Kasemsuvan expresses deep appreciation to the Airports of Thailand (AOT), Aerothai, the Royal Thai Air Force, the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), the Suvarnabhumi Airport Police and Fire Department for their support to THAI and our passengers during the incident and recovery of the aircraft. The incident is now under investigation by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Committee of Thailand (AAIC, which includes the DCA), the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB, from the USA), the Bureau d'Enqu?tes et d'Analyses (BEA, investigation authority of France), and representatives from Airbus and Pratt & Whitney. The investigation is chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport.
