KBank revamps K-Mobile Banking Plus — 700-billion-Baht or 75 percent growth expected

Bangkok--18 Sep--KASIKORNBANK KASIKORNBANK is introducing a new version of K-Mobile Banking Plus, being more user-friendly with user-adjustable screen images and backgrounds. Over five million users and 700 billion Baht in transactions are expected by the yearend with this new service, representing 75 percent growth over 2012. KBank is also offering a new LINE sticker “Brown & Cony in KBank World” for free download. According to KASIKORNBANK Executive Vice President Mr. Pakorn Partanapat, mobile phone banking service has become much more popular, having attained rapid transaction growth with smartphones that allow anytime, anywhere transactions with high security. As of August 2013, registered K-Mobile Banking users totaled 4.4 million, the highest in Thailand, with 500 billion Baht in transactions and growth of over 60 percent, most users being urban office workers with too little time to undertake banking hall transactions. In serving a rising number of customers, KBank has enhanced K-Mobile Banking Plus to a new version under “The Best Answer for Your Future” concept. All features have been completely revamped to make them more user-friendly and appropriate for diverse customers, while retaining the highest security standards. The new K-Mobile Banking PLUS provides more convenient and faster service, allowing transfers to a mobile phone number without the need of their deposit account number, as well as bill payments by reading bar codes. Users can select from many images for their account screens; they can also choose specific images for better recognition of their most often-used transactions. To reinforce KBank’s digital banking leadership, KBank and Japan’s Line Corp., a world leader in chat apps, have created “Brown & Cony in KBank World”, a LINE sticker set with the key characters, Brown and Cony, wearing KBank uniforms in a variety of action poses. The LINE app has 240 million users worldwide, with over 18 million Thais, ranking number second in the world. This marks the first time that a Thai corporation has licensed Brown and Cony characters as a marketing communication tool, surprising KBank service users. Interested persons can now download the LINE sticker set for free by registering as KBank Live users via LINE Official accounts, available from today until December 15.
