Bangkok Bank (China) Chief Executive Officer Mr. Suwatchai Songwanich welcomed 44 members of the Economic Reporters’ Association (including committee members) on their visit to the bank’s head office in Shanghai. The journalists were participating in the 2013 advanced development of economic journalists training program and were led by Association President Miss Amornrat Charoonsmith. During the visit, the media listen to a summary about the business outlook for China’s commercial banks and the history of Bangkok Bank (China) — a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bangkok Bank PCL, and the only Thai bank to receive approval from the Chinese government to operate as a local bank. Minister (Commercial) Office of Commercial Affairs, Royal Thai Embassy Dr. Phaichit Viboontanasarn, Director & Consul (Investment Promotion) Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) Mr. Pittaya Lertmaharit and E.C.I Group President Mr. Prasertsak Ongwattanakul join the session to share their experience and significant information in China.The study trip is part of the training program and related to its theme, ‘Building up Knowledge about the AEC’. Bangkok Bank has supported the program for eight consecutive years since 2006. This is also the second year that Bangkok Bank has provided extra funds of Bt 1.5 million for the study trip to provide knowledge.
