Darren Edmonstone, Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Asia-Pacific, is pleased to announce the appointment of Frederic Chretien as General Manager of the Outrigger Mauritius Resort and Spa, effective October 1, 2013. The property is scheduled to open in December 2013.
Mr. Chretien, a French and Mauritian national with 30 years' experience in hotels, will report to William Visser, Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Vice President Operations, Asia-Pacific.
Before joining Outrigger, Mr. Chretien was for 14 years the General Manager of The Residence, Mauritius. He also spent 10 years with the InterContinental Hotel Group in France and five years with Sun International in the Comoros Islands in the Indian Ocean.
Mr. Chretien, who speaks French, English, German and Italian, graduated in Hotel Management from the Paris Hotel School. He has a strong background in food and beverage.
Mr. Edmonstone said: "Frederic brings extensive experience of top-end hotel management in Mauritius to Outrigger. His leadership skills, local knowledge and food and beverage expertise will be a great asset to Outrigger as we establish our new property as one of the most desirable destination resorts in the Indian Ocean."
In his spare time, Mr. Chretien is a keen walker, swimmer, meditation, Reiki and Sudoku enthusiast.
