Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd. has launched another marketing offensive in the subcompact car market with special upgrades for the Mazda2 Elegance sedan. The current Mazda2 Elegance model now gets dressed up with the “New 2013 Collection” in order to raise its fashionable attractiveness. Apart from the upgraded body styling, it also boasts an even higher value with numerous added features.
Mr. Choichi Yuki, President of Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd. (MST), said the Thai auto market has been witnessing strong movements this year. “Every brand has been highly active, but most companies have been found to concentrate on sales strategy rather than creating higher market value. During the final four months of this year we will see increased competition among auto companies,” he said.
According to Mr. Yuki, Mazda’s strategy has always involved creating added value along with sales promotion. “Since the midyear period, the facelifting of the Mazda2 Elegance is another strategy that creates perceptible value for the product, as well as giving it a new breath. The upgrades take place both outside and inside with added luxury and sports features, helping the Mazda2 Elegance to maintain its iconic status in the automobile market,” he said, adding that superstar actor Nadech Kukimiya will take on the role as presenter.
Ms. Sureetip La-Ongthong Chomthongdee, MST Vice President for Marketing, said due to the intense competition in the automobile market, Mazda has been maintaining strong sales performances and increasing market share by concentrating on its strengths. “Mazda has been stressing upon our product value, which should be the true reason behind customer’s purchasing decision. We have been studying customer behavior and reflecting those requirements through our continuing product improvement,” she said.
According to Sureetip, the facelife change for the Mazda2 Elegance has been based on fashion concepts, and this makes it even more attractive. “The new fashion concept makes the Mazda2 Elegance, which is a car with the right appearance, luxury and sportiness, a fashion icon in the automobile market. We also have Nadech Kukimiya, the most popular Thai male actor of today, to help support the styling prowess for the Mazda2 Elegance,” Sureetip added.
The facelift Mazda2 Elegance gets a large number of new features both inside and out. The styling improvements start with the front and rear skirts, followed by 16-inch polished silver alloy wheels that reflect the latest trend from Europe. The new 4-beam project or headlights at the front are also unique in its class, while the seat upholstery has been switched from beige to black leather. Rear sensors for better safety while backing up, are offered as standard, and the door handles also come in chrome. In terms of infotainment, the Mazda2 Elegance now gets a DVD player with 7-inch touchscreen display, remote control as well as Bluetooth connectivity, iPhone/iPod/USB/AUX connection, and steering wheel mounted controls.
All-round safety includes dual front SRS airbags, and four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and EBD. The Mazda2 Elegance’s MZR 1.5-liter engine feature intelligent S-VT and TSVC systems offering continuous torque delivery from low engine revolutions and swift throttle response. Mated to the power plant is an electronically-controlled 4-speed automatic gearbox offering quick and accurate shifts, as well as “HOLD” mode for a sportier drive. A 5-speed manual transmission is also available for those who truly want to experience the “Zoom-Zoom” experience.

The contents of the commercial will reflect the outstanding styling and high level of functions offered in the car, as well as the iconic fashion character of both Nadech and the Mazda2 Elegance on the runway. Advertisement on other media such as newspapers, magazines, radio and online media will also be carried out in order to effectively reach customers in Bangkok and the rest of the country.
