DHL delivers “DHL Idea Street” for creative entrepreneurs at SME Thailand Expo 2013

Bangkok--4 Oct--Aziam Burson-Marsteller Continues to develop strong alliances and provide advanced logistics services to Thai SMEs DHL Express, the world’s leading express service provider recently launched DHL Idea Street at the SME Thailand Expo 2013. Officiating at the annual launch at Muangthong Thani under the concept ‘sparking your idea’ was Arthit Wuthikaro, Deputy Permanent Secretary to Ministry of Industry, together with representatives from SME Thailand as well as the Creative Center for Eco-Design, Department of Building Technology, Faculty of Architecture, Kasetsart University. DHL Idea Street, a collaboration between DHL Express Thailand, the Creative Center forEco-Design and SME Thailand Expo, was created as a means of attracting new SMEs throughout Thailand with an opportunity to showcase their creative ideas and new products and services to a wider public audience. The event was staged from September 5 to 8, 2013. DHL Idea Street featured 10 booths owned by entrepreneurs who were chosen among a large group of entrants in a competition that selected these 10 winners on the basis of the vision, creativity, marketability and sustainability of their ideas. “As measured by aggregate employment and exports, SMEs continue to hold a very important position in Thailand’s economy. They account for 78 percent of employment, 43 percent of non-agricultural GDP and 30 percent of exports.[1] We remain committed to developing a very tightly knit network of alliances with our SME customer base as they develop their skills and capabilities in going global and reaping lucrative growth opportunities. These same SMEs are very well aware that doing business outside of Thailand, while strategically important, can host a large number of logistical challenges.
