SET-listed motorcycle-leasing firm Group Lease Public Company Limited (GL) has been nominated for the Best Company Performance Awards in the prestigious SET Awards 2013, an annual event that will take place on November 20 at the Aksra Theatre King Power in Bangkok.
GL is nominated for the category of mid-sized companies with market capitalization in the range of 2,000-10,000 million baht. The Best Company Performance Awards are among a total of seven categories of awards that will be given out to outstanding listed companies, securities firms and asset management companies. Some of the other Awards include Best CEO, Best Investor Relations and Best Corporate Social Responsibility.
GL’s nomination has been made on the basis of the company’s aggressive business expansion and strong financial results in recent years. Net profits jumped 66% from 215.08 million baht in 2011 to 357.38 million baht in 2012 while profits in the first half this year topped 181.47 million baht.
Having set its corporate vision to become “The Leading ASEAN Regional Finance Company”, GL is expanding its successful motorcycle-leasing operations into Cambodia where it is also taking over the financing of agricultural machineries from Siam Kubota Corporation under a recently concluded agreement. The company has set its sight to expand into the huge micro-financing markets in the region to capitalize on the opening of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015.
