Mountain Creek Golf Resort, the one and only course designed by former world No.1 and winner of 5 Majors Seve Ballesteros, and, Thailand’s beverage giant Chang have joined hands to organize “Mountain Creek#5 Amateur Golf Challenge 2013” at the 27-hole golf course located just a couple of hours drive away from Bangkok in Amphur Sikhio, Nakhon Ratchasima, on Saturday, 30 November 2013.
According to a news release issued today, the tournament is open to all amateur golfers and will be conducted on 18 holes in Stroke Play format with same-day handicapping. The handicap of the golfers is determined following the round as per System 36 strictures.
The participating golfers will be split into two flights — ‘Flight A’ (HCP 0-12) and ‘Flight B’ (HCP 13-24) — and allowed to play in groups of 4 or 5. The shotgun start is scheduled at noon with registration commencing at 10.30 am. The fee for participation is just 2,700 baht per person, which includes a colourful polo shirt, green fee, caddie fee, golf cart and dinner. There are a lot of exciting prizes to be won by the top performers. The winner will receive 40 complimentary green fee vouchers worth 72,000 baht.
Mountain Creek Managing Director Khun Ausana Mahagitsiri stated that the contest would serve as an excellent launch pad for amateurs aspiring to join the Asian Tour and beyond and make a career in golf. “All aspiring amateurs should join the event and play Mountain Creek, which is highly challenging but equally rewarding.”
