40 students from UNPAR, Indonesia visit AIT

Bangkok--5 Nov--AIT Forty students from Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR), Indonesia accompanied by their faculty visited the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 4 November 2013 to acquaint themselves of the educational and research offerings at the Institute. Led by Dr. A Caroline Sutandi (seated 3rd from left), Dean, Faculty of Engineering, the delegation interacted with AIT faculty and students and expressed their admiration of AIT. Dr. Caroline stated that the focus of their visit was to follow up on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with AIT earlier, and to encourage students to explore educational and research initiatives as a part of their annual field trip. She added that UNPAR was founded in 1955 by the Bishop of Bandung and Bishop of Bogor. Dr. Caroline was accompanied by Dr. Doddi Yudianto, Head of Civil Engineering Department, and Dr. Paulus Pramono, Coordinator for Disaster Management Program. Prof. Voratas Kachitvichyanukul, Interim Dean of AIT’s School of Engineering and Technology (AIT); Dr. Sangam Shrestha, Associate Dean, SET; and Dr. Vilas Nitivattananon of School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) informed the delegation about AIT. They also deliberated about joint research activities in the field of water resources, structural engineering, and disaster management.
