Bangkok--5 Nov--European ASEAN Business Centre
The European Asean Business Centre (EABC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Science & Technology, recently held a seminar titled "Success Stories on Innovation in Thailand — A Key Driver of Economic Growth through Technology". The event began with a welcome remark by Mr. Mads Korn from the Delegation of the European Union to Thailand and commenced by H.E. Dr. Phiraphan Phalasuk, Minister of Science & Technology. This was followed by a briefing from Mr. Nirut Kunnawat, Advisor to the Minister of Science & Technology.
Next were the panel discussions moderated by Mr. James Evans, chairperson of EABC Working Group on IPR with the following panelists; Dr. Kitisak Promwong from the National Science, Technology & Innovation Policy Office; Dr. Thaweesak Koanantakool of the National Science & Technology Development Agency; Mr. Emin Turan, Managing Director of Sanofi-Pasteur (Thailand) and Dr. Thavirap Tantiwongse, Public Affairs Director of GlaxoSmithKline (Thailand).
The event was attended by H.E. Mr. Klas Molin, Swedish Ambassador to Thailand, representatives of many Thai and international government agencies, academic organisations, chambers of commerce, private enterprises and members of the Thai media.
