DHL Express, the world’s leading express service provider, will highlight its important “behind-the-scenes” role in the fashion industry at the Siam Paragon Bangkok International Fashion Week 2013 at Parc Paragon, Siam Paragon, as the event’s Official Logistics Partner. From November 7 - 10 2013, Asia’s hottest design creations will hit the runway to the theme “The future is Asia”, but the real action is taking place behind the scenes.
DHL Express, the Official Logistics Partner for Siam Paragon Bangkok International Fashion Week, is providing perfect-fit solutions needed to bring over 100 fashion wares from India, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Paris and Sydney to the stage. The buzz and pace of the fashion week — four days, three international designers and five Thai designers — makes logistics support vital. Behind the flashbulbs, wardrobe changes, colored lights and fabulous music, is a team of backstage heroes dedicated to making the most fashionable days of the year a huge success.
“Our partnership in sponsoring Fashion Week started as part of our local involvement in the US (Miami, LA and New York). Based on our successful experiences in those cities, we decided to build upon and leverage those activities into what is now a global partnership program with our provision of logistics support for many well-known fashion labels and top brands in the global apparel industry,” commented Yasmin Aladad Khan, Senior Vice President, DHL Express Southeast Asia.
She continued, “Our end-to-end solutions are ideally suited for the fashion industry and include manufacturing and supplier services, origin and destination management, as well as in-country logistics. Collectively we have one of the most extensive fashion and apparel network capabilities in the logistics industry, providing geographical coverage from raw materials origins to manufacturing and retail stores locations in Asia, including in Thailand.”
“The fashion industry is extremely fast paced and dynamic with very tight deadlines, multiple suppliers with many things having to be constructed and safely delivered in a very tight sequence.
Supporting Siam Paragon Bangkok International Fashion Week is the perfect way to demonstrate our capabilities in the complex nature of the fashion industry,” said Chananyarak Phetcharat, Managing Director, DHL Express Thailand and Indochina. Expert logistics support ensures that the latest fashion creations are brought to the runway — right on time.”
With a worldwide presence in more than 220 countries, customers can take advantage of DHL’s fast and reliable air express services and an extensive knowledge of customs and trade regulations.
