The Sukhothai Bangkok cordially invites you to take part in the inaugural Sukhothai Lecture Series that focuses upon the topic “What can the world learn from the magic of ASEAN?” by Professor Kishore Mahbubani, the Dean and Professor in the Practice of Public Policy of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of the National University of Singapore.
Professor Kishore Mahbubani has had the good fortune of enjoying a career in government and, at the same time, in writing extensively on public issues. He was with the Singapore Foreign Service for 33 years (1971-2004) where he had postings in Cambodia (1973-74), Malaysia, Washington DC and New York, where he served two postings as Singapore’s Ambassador to the UN and as President of the UN Security Council in January 2001 and May 2002. He was Permanent Secretary at the Foreign Ministry from 1993 to 1998. Currently, he is the Dean and Professor in the Practice of Public Policy at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) of the National University of Singapore. In the world of ideas he has spoken and published globally. His latest book is The Great Convergence: Asia, the West, and the logic of One World.
