KTC celebrates the successful decade of “Learn & Earn @ KTC” Project
Seeking for creative thinker for AEC to earn educational fundwith a tour package to the land of Kimchi worth over 200,000 Baht
“KTC” organizes an event to celebrate the tenth year of successful Learn & Earn @ KTC Project by awarding the winners of the competition “Getting Ready for Working in AEC Era” with educational fund and a tour package to Korea worth at the total of 240,000 Baht. This initiative focuses on allocating an amount of budget for university students’ capacity building to be able to continually serve the world of business and to be ready for ASEAN Economic Community, as well as to create their positive awareness through moral and ethical-supportive activities throughout the year, with the hope to create good and smart person for the Thai society. Up until now, there have been around 3,000 university students around the country working with KTC under Learn & Earn @ KTC Project.
Mr. Rathian Srimongkol, President & Chief Executive Officer, “KTC” or Krungthai Card Public Company Limited stated that “KTC continuously organizes social activities by supporting children and education. Learn & Earn @ KTC Project has been initiated since 2003 with the main purpose to prepare university students for real work life, as well as to provide a forum for sharing thoughts among the new generation; while enabling KTC to cultivate the seedling of business knowledge, to foster their administrative perspective by maximizing their part-time income, as well as to provide them with their ability to lighten their family loads in the time of economic downturn.”
“Considering the direction of Learn & Earn @ KTC Project in 2014, KTC allocates some amount of budget for vocational training in various fields to build our personnel capacity for sustainable growth, involving both our employees and university students from Learn & Earn @ KTC Project. In order to prepare their readiness towards the accession of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015, KTC is organizing activities to create perception and understanding regarding AEC under the thought “Thai Kids: Conserving Thai Goodness; Moving Towards AEC”, as well as various kinds of seminar and workshop to enhance knowledge sharing society which would be of good use for working in AEC era. This aims to develop such students for the best benefits and to collaboratively cultivate them with morality, integrity, and ethics, as well as to promote “giver” role as a part of being good juvenile for the society.
Mrs. Ubolrat Busyakanistha, Head of Human Resources, added that “throughout the past 10 years, KTC has opened apprenticeship opportunities for approximately 3,000 university students, from over 22,000 candidates in total, under Learn & Earn @ KTC Project. KTC has also hired over 200 of them as real employees. During the project, KTC organized several vocational trainings in various fields to develop their capability which is related to both of their work and their quality of life. KTC also focused on cultivating the role of “giver” through involving in several forms of social work continually.”
“On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of this project, KTC therefore organizes project work competition to select university students with Top Performance Awards and to grant a certificate to each university student working with KTC for over 300 hours, in order to encourage them by presenting KTC’s recognition of their efforts dedicated to the company. The competition’s issue was very distinguishing this year as Thailand is moving towards the accession of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015. Teams passing the selection to final round had to design a project work in response to the question “How do you prepare yourself for working in AEC era?” in order to earn educational fund and a tour package to Korea worth 240,000 Baht in total. There were 9 university students, out of 200 students, with 3.0 and over in GPA participating in the competition. Competitors for the final round were divided into 3 teams with 3 students in each team. Each team has to collaborate in creating a project work. The winner will be awarded with a tour package to Korea; while another 2 teams, 6 students in total, will be awarded with educational fund of 10,000 Baht each.”
“We hope that Learn & Earn @ KTC Project will be another channel for gathering new generation groups with talent and morality together to become a vital force moving Thai society forward to catch up with international level.” Mr. Rathian ended his remarks.
