Bangkok--22 Nov--ACE LIFE ACE Life Thailand, part of the ACE Group, held its ‘Day of Service’ during which more than 160 volunteered staff and life insurance agents rallied together to plant trees, improve landscapes and upgrade recreational equipment to create more green space and facilities at three different schools under the patronage of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn during 8-15 November. The three schools included in this initiative were the Naraesuan Huaysoke Border Patrol Police School in Petchaburi Province, the Baan Bor Chaom Border Patrol Police School in Chanthaburi Province and Wat Thong Samrit School in Bangkok. Moreover, in alignment with H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s vision to create self-sustained ecosystems, the company funded the renovation of fish ponds, frog ponds and agricultural fields at all three schools. ACE’s philanthropic activities focus on the support of the local communities in which it lives and works. In the spirit of this corporate philanthropy, its employees across 11 Asia Pacific markets held their respective ‘Day of Service’ during a designated week of the year. They planned, organized, partnered with their local charities and executed various community outreach activities in line with ACE’s over-arching philanthropic theme of education, poverty and health, and the environment. A regional initiative inaugurated in 2012, the ‘Day of Service’ provides an opportunity for all employees to come together and dedicate a small part of their time to local community projects. Ms. Sally O’Hara, Country President of ACE Life Thailand, said “ACE Life has been in operation in Thailand for 12 years, during which time we’ve focused not only on expanding the company’s business, but also on giving back to the communities in which we live and work. This week, our employees and agents actively demonstrated their commitment to those in need by fully participating in three separate philanthropic initiatives stretching across several cities and provinces. Employees and agents helped to paint and build playgrounds, and to plant trees and vegetables within school grounds. Furthermore, in addition to the company’s contributions, staff and agents donated money and sporting equipment, as well as textbooks and learning aids to the schools’ students. ACE Life Thailand’s ‘Day of Service’ activities provided employees and agents with an opportunity to deliver tangible benefits to hundreds of school children and nearby communities, which was immensely rewarding for everyone involved,” added Ms. O’Hara.
