Bangkok--28 Nov--FTI To help Thai SMEs increase their reach, Siam Commercial Bank and the Federation of Thai Industries have announced that they will hold an "8th SCB-FTI Factory Outlet" fair, to be held during November 25-29, 2013 at Mahisorn Hall at the Siam Commercial Bank Head Office. At the event, shoppers can discover the unique offerings of more than 200 famous brands, featuring discounts of up to 40%. The fair aims to support Thai SMEs by showcasing their high quality products while generating business growth and opportunities. In addition, shoppers will enjoy being able to purchase high quality products of outstanding value, which will help boost domestic consumption. SCB is confident that participating SMEs will be able to earn revenues of more than 20 million baht during the 5-day event. Speaking about the sale, Siam Commercial Bank President Mrs. Kannikar Chalitaport said that, "SCB is involved in every aspect of business partnership with SMEs, from providing financial support to holding knowledge forums to raise the capacity of Thai SMEs to generate sustainable growth. This SCB-FTI Factory Outlet fair will also support marketing and selling channels for Thai export-quality products. The event has been held seven times previously, and has always received overwhelming interest from both SMEs and consumers. This year more than 200 SMEs will be participating. SCB is confident that it will be able to boost revenues and inject more than 20 million baht into the industrial sector, and SMEs in particular.” The Federation of Thai Industries Vice President Mr. Jane Namchaisiri noted that small and medium enterprises, or SMEs, are an important driver of the country's economy and are just as important as large corporations. However, expanding appropriate domestic markets so that SEMs do not rely solely on exports is an important goal that cannot not be overlooked. It is also important to promote brands to build business strength. The FTI is hoping that the SCB — FTI Factory Outlet fair will strengthen the potential of Thai SMEs in all aspects. Having realized the importance of promoting and supporting SMEs, the FTI has collaborated with SCB to jointly organize the SCB — FTI Factory Outlet fair to expand selling channels for SMEs, which will also increase opportunities for them to promote and launch new products. Increased sales will help boost the country's liquidity as well. Previous fairs have been successful and received a positive response from consumers, Mr. Namchaisiri noted. The 8th SCB - FTI Factory Outlet fair has expanded the number of commercial areas covered to 217, a 40% increase from the first event. FTI members, both in Bangkok and provincial areas, including SCB customers, have brought products from their factories to offer directly to buyers at reasonable prices, such as cosmetics, herbs, leather products, shoes, furniture, decorative items, electrical appliances, textiles, apparel, accessories, jewelry, food, IT equipment, appliances, and toys. The FTI and SCB hope that this event will help increase SME sales and business liquidity in the country.
