To commemorate HM the King?s 86th Birthday Anniversary on 5 December 2013, American Express (Thai) Co., Ltd. has officially launched its Facebook charity project ?SHARE for LIFE?, to encourage Cardmembers and dog lovers to participate in the fun online activities while helping shelter dogs at the ?Hua Hin Dog Shelter? ? one of HM the King?s brainchild initiatives.
According to Anakkawat Kowathanakul, Vice President ? Consumer Card of American Express (Thai), the ?SHARE for LIFE? project is part of the company?s CSR activities carried out every year. ?American Express is pleased to work with our partners including Vet Recommended, Manoon Pet Shop, Ibis Hotel and ?The Voice? animal-rescue charity project ? to cultivate a society of responsible dog ownership, as well as to disseminate knowledge on proper dog raising and care, through a fun game on the American Express Facebook page.? said Mr. Kowathanakul.
From 4 to 30 Nov 2013, American Express Cardmembers, Facebook fans and dog lovers can access to American Express Thailand?s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/AmericanExpressThailand) and answer three basic character-related questions to find out which dog breeds suit them. By sharing their answers with friends on Facebook, Vet Recommended will donate one dog meal to the ?Hua Hin Dog Shelter? for each ?SHARE?. In addition, at the end of the project, American Express will donate 100,000 Baht in cash to ?The Voice? animal-rescue charity project to help sick and injured stray dogs.
Montree Chuphu the Deputy Mayor of Hua Hin said, ?Currently, stray dogs at our Shelter are more than 1,800 and have been increasing in number. Most of them were abandoned, due to their owners? lack of raising readiness. it is encouraging to see American Express (Thai) and other private entities show immense interest in the welfare of dogs and the social education of responsible dog-raising.?
?We have continuously organized various activities with the aim to promote living quality of pets. To support the initiative, we are joining hands with Manoon Pet Shop, Thailand?s pet food market leader, to place donation boxes for the project at all 16 branches of Manoon Pet Shop. All the donation will go to the Hua Hin Dog Shelter at the end of campaign? said Mr. Paithoonwongveera Veterinarian Thienchai Paithoonwongveera, Managing Director of Vet Recommended Co., Ltd.
At the project?s launch event, a number of invited celebrities ? including Monlada Pongpanit, Kalyarat Arkaradejdachachai, ?Kae? ? Cholada Mekratree, and ?Teen? ? Sarawut Pumtong who brought along their dogs ? shared their experiences and opinions about responsible dog raising, amidst the cozy and dog-friendly ambience of Ibis Bangkok Riverside Hotel.
