Philip Bryson, Area Vice President South East Asia, Australia & South Pacific of Marriott International Inc., announces the appointment of Gerd Kotlorz as the new Area Director of Sales and Marketing. Kotlorz will take full operational responsibility for the properties in Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.
Gerd brings almost 18 years of International sales and marketing experience to his new position with Marriott International, gained in senior positions in Europe, Middle East/Africa and Asia Pacific. He started his hotel career in Europe with Maritime Hotels and held the positions of Regional Director of Sales - East Germany, and Director of Leisure Sales. He then joined Iberotel and Sol Y Mar Resorts & Hotels in Egypt as Regional Director of Sales & Marketing.
Gerd joins us from InterContinental Hotels Group where he has held several property, cluster and area positions. During the past 10 years at IHG, Gerd worked as Area Director of Sales & Marketing (ADSM) for Oman, ADSM for Egypt and then ADSM for Germany/Poland/Ukraine. Gerd has also worked in Asia Pacific and was responsible for all IHG hotels in Seoul. He also successfully opened the InterContinental Hotel in Danang in Vietnam.
In his last assignment, Gerd was based in Dubai where he was responsible for building a global platform to facilitate the commercial sales ramp up of new hotels and resorts for all IHG brands.
In his new role, Gerd will join the Area team of South East Asia and will be responsible for driving top line revenue and market share of all our hotels in Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines.
