The true culinary art style
The culinary star of North Africa, Moroccan cuisine is famous for its remarkable taste and aromas with a delicious display of influences. Its various dishes can trace the country’s long history and hospitality. In 2010, UNESCO has listed Moroccan cuisine as The Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The most popular dishes reflect the diversity of Moroccan heritage, for example the traditional Couscous, cream-colored grains of semolina steamed over a highly-flavored stock of meat and vegetables; Tajine, a casserole of meat and poultry named after the cooking pot in which it is cooked; Pastilla made from fine layers of pastry (ouarka) stuffed with poultry and almonds; Mechwi (roasted lamb); traditional Moroccan soup Harira made with fresh coriander, chick-peas,
lentils; and Pastilla au Lait, a delicious dessert consisting of layers of fried pastry, enriched vanilla cream and toasted almonds. Also on offer is Mint Tea, the Moroccan national symbol for hospitality.
The “Moroccan Cuisine and Culture Festival” is held at The Sukosol Bangkok from 17 – 23 December, 2013.
