Bangkok--9 Jan--Plaza Athenee Bangkok, A Royal Meridien From classic dim sums to specially created set dinner and banquet menus, the celebrated Silk Road Chinese fine dining restaurant at Plaza Athénée, A Royal Méridien Hotel, embraces the spirit of this coming Chinese New Year in a range of captivating ways that enhance and intensify celebrations, both large and more intimate. The restaurant’s passionate team led by Hong Kong Chef Cheng Kam Sing take the Year of the Horse ethos of unremitting improvement to heart, folding fresh inspiration and heightened delight into every dish and sequence. On Friday 31 January 2014, they unveil a gala all-you-can-eat dim sum menu priced at THB 3,800 net per person that will transports the taste buds into the new year on a delectable high. Besides assorted prime dim sum varieties, the menu includes King of dry seafood in clear soup; Suckling Pig Hong Kong style or Guitar duck; Braised sliced abalone topped with dry scallop; Baked Phuket Lobster in X.O. sauce (1/2pcs); Baked Garoupa in onion sauce with rice vermicelli; Taro snow style or Mango sticky rice. More special festive set menus are offered from Friday 31 January to Tuesday 04 February 2014. The first of these, priced THB 3,333 net per person, starts with Minced dry oyster in golden cup and proceeds to Bird’s nest and crab meat in thick soup. This is followed by Foie gras salad, Sea cucumber and abalone in oyster sauce and Fried rice golden horse style, and concludes with Mango pudding. For tables of 10 pax, another option during the same period priced at THB 19,888 net per table begins with Deluxe hot Hors d’oeuvre and continues with a second appetizer of Abalone in brown soup. Next is Suckling Pig and then Sautéed scallop with walnut, Deep fried tiger prawn with wasabi, Steamed Garoupa in soy sauce and Fried rice golden horse style, with Deep fried cream pancai for dessert. A special Chinese New Year a la carte menu has also been created including such delicacies as Minced dry oyster in golden cup (THB 590); Braised scallops with dry oyster in brown sauce (THB 1,190); Steamed hair seaweed and shrimp ball (THB 690); Braised pork knuckle (THB 490); Pan fried tofu wrapped with hair seaweed (THB 490), and; Sautéed seaweed with sa-tae sauce (THB 790).
