Home Builder Association launches 8-strategy planning to improve and extend its service to be more than a home building service.

Bangkok--13 Jan--Home Builder Association Home Builder Association launches 8-strategy to sustainably grow home builder business as well as to be prepared and ready for the opening of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The strategies are focused on the development of the business to be productive, competitive, and professional by developing from the internal of the organization which will reflect the improvement of external image of the organization as a result. Home Builder Association believes the consumers will get the benefits the most from these strategies. Meanwhile, the overall market value is expected to grow 7% which approximately total 11,500 million Baht. On the other hand, the problem of labor, economic, and political situation are the critical factors which can impact the growing of the home builder business. Mr. Wisit Monaiyapong, President of Home Builder Association, revealed that the association sets the business strategy in the next 2 years by launching 8 main strategies aiming to help the business to sustainably grow and ready for the opening of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The strategies are consisting of (1) financial: the association will generate the budget concentrating on the development of the efficiency of the members in order to develop them to be competitive, (2) business expansion: building the business connection with related business through 2 strategies which are, firstly, supply chain: by cooperate with the manufacturer and distributor of building materials and, secondly, synergy with related business such as land supplying business, interior design business, electric appliances business, air-condition manufacturer, swimming pool constructor and so on, (3) member expansion: seeking for the new members to join the association regardless of any adjusting of the screening of new comers regulations aiming to increase the overall market value, (4) the cooperation with financial institution: to launch the new form of loan especially for home builder business which will completely serve with other related businesses so that the customers will get more convenience as well as the business will also gain competitive advantage, (5) enhancing the service to meet international standard: impelling the members to reach the standard of ISO 9001 which not only can help increasing the confidence to the customers but also, at the same time, help the members preparing to be competitive for the upcoming of AEC, (6) increasing the business’s efficiency and protection: the monitoring team will be established in order to monitor and research the threats and all impacts that can affect the business so that the members will be able to settle with the problem, (7) knowledge association through electronic library: electronic library will be created by systematically complying both existing and new knowledge as well as seeking the new knowledge essentially for home builder business so that all members can conveniently reach the information and knowledge in order to help deciding in making business decision, (8) human resources development: cooperating with education institution to create the courses especially for home builders such as interior designer, engineer, and foreman. “The objectives of the association are concentrated on all members and consumers as seeing that the more improvement of internal organization, the more external image will be improved. As a result, every stakeholder will be the beneficiaries. If the overall market is better, the home builder business will also grow up. On the consumers’ side, they will get the complete home solution service which we called Building a Home; More Than a Construction”, Mr. Wisit said Mr. Wisit further said that the overall market value of the home builder business in 2014 in the area of Bangkok and metropolitan provinces is estimated to be 11,500 million Baht which generated by the association’s members approximately 7,500 million Baht while the rest of 4,000 million Baht is generated from non-members. Comparing with 2013, the total market value is approximately 10,700 million Baht which 7,100 million and 3,600 million Baht generated by members and non-members respectively. The market value is target to increase around 7%. However, home builder association still suffers the impacts from the previous year such as labor shortage, arising cost of labor and material, and uncertainty political situation. All of these impacts are resulted in the weighing of the business expansion. In previous year, the association tried to cooperate with the government in many issues. Unfortunately, the government was not respond; therefore, the problem of labor shortage seems to be unsolved. In addition, the slowdown of economic condition from the previous year also seems to affect to this year. Hence, the overall market may be less expanded. Moreover, the uncertainty of political situation also affected the confidence of consumers as well.
