Bangkok, January 29th, 2014 – Garrett Popcorn™ opens its newest location and flagship shop at Siam Paragon today. Travelers to Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong or Singapore may have already experienced Garrett Popcorn™, the original gourmet popcorn brand popular throughout the US and Asia, and as of today, Thai fans now have the convenience of a Garrett Popcorn Shops® right in the heart of Bangkok.

The Garrett Popcorn Shops® story
Garrett Popcorn Shops® began at the Garrett family kitchen table when each family member was challenged to create a caramel popcorn recipe. One creation stood out from the rest, to the extent that it was called CaramelCrisp® to distinguish its unique flavor and delicate, crème brûléecrunch from the other ‘caramel corn’ varieties that were available at the time.
The 1949 opening of the first Garrett Popcorn Shop generated a long queue of customers, all eagerly waiting to purchase a tin of handcrafted Garrett Popcorn made on-site throughout the day according to that same secret Garrett family recipe.
Today very little has changed from 1949; every batch of Garrett Popcorn is still handmade daily, in copper kettles, using only 7 simple quality ingredients and no preservatives. Garrett Popcorn Shops® continues its history of generating large queues of new customers and loyal fans alike – the only difference is, today these form outside of Garrett Popcorn Shops® throughout the world.
Currently there are Garrett Popcorn Shops®; in Chicago, New York, Las Vegas, Dubai, Hong Kong, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, UK and Singapore. Further openings are planned for UAE, Brazil, and South Korea in 2014.
Shaking it up – The Chicago Mix™ is born
In 1977, fans of Garrett Popcorn Shops® asked for a mixture of sweet and salty. Combining CaramelCrisp™ and CheeseCorn™ flavors created a taste sensation that became “The Chicago Mix™”. Today The Chicago Mix™ is still the most popular flavor and is an integral part of the theatre of the Garrett Popcorn experience.
In addition to The Chicago Mix™, the Garrett Popcorn Shops® in Siam Paragon Mall will also make, serve and sell its other signature flavors; Plain, CaramelCrisp™, CheeseCorn™ and Buttery as well as a variety of Nut CaramelCrisp™ options. Seasonal flavors will be popping up from time to time too.
